Future Possibilities, Inc.
Future Possibilities, Inc. was founded in 1994 by Lorraine White in New York City and is currently headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. More than 2,500 children from various boroughs of New York and the inner city of Columbus have graduated from our program and applied their newly developed life skills to make a positive difference in their communities. This unique coaching organization has since expanded into Toronto, Ontario, and most recently to Sydney, Australia. The organization has no paid staff and is run by an active Board of Directors guiding a structured committee system of volunteers. We are the proud recipient of the “Golden Ruler Award” presented by the Columbus Board of Education as the best partnership between the public city schools and the local business community.
Ready, Set, Goal! Program
The Ready, Set, Goal! program is a trademarked curriculum that effectively empowers children to create and implement a “Goal of Contribution”. With the support of their KidCoach, each child completes the 18-session curriculum in one-on-one coaching sessions and Group Workshops. The program covers six months and runs parallel to the school year.
The Future Possibilities KidCouncil Program prepares and empowers children, ages 10-14, to have a positive impact on their communities of choice. KidCouncil activities provide them with the tools and resources necessary to work as a team and achieve group goals. Participants are graduates of the Future Possibilities Ready, Set, Goal! program and work as a team to design and execute collective Goals of Contribution to benefit their immediate and extended communities.
Christmas Possibilities Program
The Christmas Possibilities program is a community outreach program supported by the volunteers and children of Future Possibilities. The program leverages the Future Possibilities network to reach the underserved communities in the local areas surrounding program sites. The program objective is to simply extend the touch of Future Possibilities and help make Christmas a possibility in some economically challenged areas.
